Watch out Yatt, I can hear Louis Vuitton growling!

If there's one thing everyone in the fashion world should know, it's that it's never wise to mess with the legal team at Louis Vuitton. They are notorious for fiercely protecting their intellectual property rights, no matter how seemingly minor the infringement might be to some.

The latest brand to pinch LV's registered trademark for their own use is Yatt, which is based in Spain. As a brand, they seem to have a bit of a thing for using well-known registered trademarks in their designs.

LV Bones (Brown)

LV Bones (Natural)

These bags clearly feature the design elements of the 'Toile monogram' and a stylised 'LV'. It will be interesting to see how LV responds.

What do you reckon? Are the bags some harmless fun, or do they dilute the LV brand?

  2. so sorry, i was in the office when i made a comment on your post, just wanted to leave a fast comment, was just running through blogs. well, am not really a big fan of lv lol cause there are loads of fakes outside there that looks so real, its so difficult to spot the fake ones. I think they should make it affordable too, like other designers do with h&m.

    1. Hey! No worries :)

I see what you mean, it would be great to be able to afford LV. But at the same time, it's a luxury brand, and I do think it should stay that way. Perhaps a diffusion line from LV would be good...

  3. While I really love the bags and the idea, I hate copied things - I'd rather have something original, even if it doesn't scream designer, than something copied that pretends to.
